Melanie P. Merriman, Ph.D., MBA is founder and president of Touchstone Consulting. Following a career as a research scientist (Assoc. Professor of Cell Biology & Anatomy at University of Miami School of Medicine), Dr. Merriman completed an MBA in Health Care Administration and worked for VITAS Healthcare Corporation as Director of Quality and Compliance. She is nationally recognized for her work in quality assessment and performance improvement with hospice and palliative care providers. She served as a quality measurement contractor to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and directed evaluation technical assistance programs for The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. In recent years, she dialed back her consulting work to focus on creative writing (including a cookbook and a memoir), traveling, and volunteering. After living 30 years in Miami, she and her husband now split their time between Delray Beach, FL and Cape Cod, MA.
