Mrs. Claus Spotted in Downtown Miami!

Some are calling it, “The miracle on NW 3rd Street!” Throughout November and December FFCR volunteers have generously filled our toy collection box with an overflow of soft blankets, stuffed animals, dolls, activity sets, rattles, games, blocks, books and more for babies in Miami’s foster care system. Similar toy drives have been taking place all over Miami – with FFCR volunteers and hundreds of other ‘elves’ collecting toys from colleagues and friends. The woman in charge is none other than Miami’s own Mrs. Claus (aka Bunchy Gertner), who has organized an extraordinary toy drive every year for 21 years! Whether you brought one thoughtful gift or dropped off by the box load – on behalf of the children, we are most grateful for your support. If you would like to help wrap gifts this weekend or otherwise support the toy drive, please contact FFCR’s Communications & Development Coordinator, Melissa Meade at 305.679.2753 or mmeade@fostercarereview.org.

Volunteer Nikole Flores collected toys on behalf of the drive at the Women in Music’s holiday party at The Gale’s Rec Room.
