    Communications Director

    Courtenay Strickland serves as Florida Foster Care Review’s Communications Consultant. Courtenay began providing consulting services to nonprofits in 2011, achieving a solid track record in growing foundation support, attaining public policy goals, and establishing thought leadership. Before launching her own business, Courtenay worked as Public Policy Director and chief lobbyist for the ACLU of Florida. She also served for five years as the ACLU of Florida’s Voting Rights Project Director, during which time she lobbied the Florida Legislature concerning post-2000 electoral reforms and worked to end Florida’s system of felony disenfranchisement. Courtenay has been active in the South Florida community and was selected for Class V of the Miami Fellows Initiative, a leadership development program of the Miami Foundation. She is fluent in Spanish and holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Yale University.
