Senior Permanency Roundtable Specialist

Katrina Barnes-Casher joined Florida Foster Care Review in May 2020 as a Permanency Roundtable Specialist. Katrina graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with a specialization in Sports Management from Florida State University. She later obtained her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University. Her experience in Child Welfare began in 2000 with the Florida Department of Children and Families first as a Child Protective Investigator and then as a Child Protective Investigator Supervisor for a total of 11 ½ years. During this time she also served as a volunteer for Women in Distress and as a Victim Services Practitioner with The Office of the Attorney General. After a two year break, she later joined the Center for Family and Child Enrichment, Inc. first as a Case Manager and then as a Case Manager Supervisor for almost 7 years. During this time, she was recognized as the “Child Welfare Professional of the Month” for July 2018 by Florida Foster Care Review.
