Marissa Leichter

Training & Engagement Manager

Marissa Leichter joined FFCR as the Citizen Review Panel Program Manager in 2015 and in 2018 transitioned to our Training and Engagement Manager. Marissa has been a child advocate since 2004, first as a senior program attorney with Miami’s Guardian ad Litem Program, and then as Director of Community and Legal Affairs for Educate Tomorrow. In 2013, Governor Scott appointed Marissa to the Board of Directors of The Children’s Trust, and she is currently serving her second term.  She was selected as a Miami Fellow by The Miami Foundation in 2011-12 and has since served on the Foundation’s Engaged Youth Committee.  Marissa is also the co-mentor for Florida Youth SHINE’s Miami Chapter – a youth run, peer driven organization working hard to change the culture of Florida’s child welfare system.  Marissa earned a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, an MPA from Florida International University and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
