New Case Managers Benefit from FFCR’s Expertise

Our Kids’ new case manager 11-week pre-service trainings are conducted four times a year. Our Kids trained approximately 70 new case managers in the past fiscal year. Once a case manager completes the training, he/she becomes certified to manage his/her own cases without supervision.

Our Kids invites its community partners, including FFCR, to present at the pre-service trainings. Training and Engagement Manager, Marissa Leichter, and PRT Program Manager, Melissa Martinez-Esteve, represent FFCR at these trainings and educate future case managers about our Citizen Review Panel (CRP) and Permanency Roundtable (PRT) Programs. On July 13th, Marissa provided the class with a sample CRP Findings Report as well as explained the importance of the Judicial Review process. Melissa explained the PRT Program referral criteria and the PRT process. She also educated the class on the values, purpose, and philosophy of the PRT Program.

We are grateful to be able to share our expertise and unique perspective with new case managers and appreciate the opportunity to collaborate in their education.
